Have I become a beer snob?

I thought the day would never come that I would say I am a beer snob in training. Over spring break Rory and I headed to Dallas for the 25th annual Bluebonnet Brew Off. Last year I was only there to see what brew competitions and tastings were all about. Little did I know that less than a year later, I would know more about beer than I could have ever imagined (and I still know very little) and brewed my very own beer.

I took my Oktoberfest with me to see what our club members thought. They all seemed to like it but said it needed to sit for a little longer, it needed to lager more. I can't wait to trying it again sometime this summer, I think that is when it will hit its prime!

I did not take any pictures of the competition and tasting this year, but I can guarantee that they would look the exact same as last year.

The picture above is of me and Rory comparing one of his beers to Terrapin Rye Pale Ale. He cloned this beer a month or so ago and I was using my new found skills to see if it was a match. A friend of mine was kind enough to capture this moment for my blog!

In two weeks Rory and I are headed on our first camping trip of the season! Can't wait to enjoy this wonderful spring weather. We are going rain or shine! I will be sure to post more about that in a few weeks...maybe a month ;)
